早在文藝復(fù)興時期，人們便有意識的使用輔助線疊加在圖片上的形式來模擬透視關(guān)系，且已經(jīng)開始使用黃金比例矩形。13 世紀，法國建筑師 Villard de Honnecourt 創(chuàng)作了一張圖表，試圖實現(xiàn)“和諧的設(shè)計”。該圖將網(wǎng)格系統(tǒng)與黃金比例合并，以產(chǎn)生基于固定比例的邊距的頁面布局。該技術(shù)至今仍在使用，大多數(shù)印刷書籍和雜志的設(shè)計師都使用 Villard de Honnecourt 的圖來創(chuàng)建平衡的設(shè)計。
